A Step By Step Guide To CheckABike
Additional Information
How Does CheckABike Work?
Once you have decided whether to buy a CheckABike Solo or CheckABike Multi, follow our simple steps to check the bike of your dreams.
CheckABike Multi
- Step 1
- Register your details with us. It is free to sign up and you can purchase checks when you need them.
- Step 2
- Buy your CheckABike with your credit or debit card. If you have a promotion code which may entitle you to a discount, please enter it at this stage and verify it to ensure you pay the correct amount. No refunds will be made for unclaimed discounts. Once you have paid for a CheckABike Multi, you will have up to 60 days to check your dream bikes.
- Step 3
-
Check a motorcycle by entering:
- the Vehicle Registration Mark (VRM)
- the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), don't worry if you don't have it, you can come back with it later
- the approximate current mileage if you know it. This will help us to identify any mileage anomalies for you
- Step 4
- If you have any queries about data returned on your report, refer to our Useful Information pages or e-mail us at checkabike@uk.experian.com.
- Step 5
- Before you buy the bike, read our Buying Advice and print off the check list. A CheckABike report can help you make an informed decision, but cannot protect you from every eventuality; by following our advice you will know some of the things to look out for.
- Step 6
- Confirm the VIN if you have not already done so, before you buy it. The VIN is unique to each vehicle and is one way of checking that its identity has not been changed fraudulently. It can be found on the V5C and stamped into the frame of the bike. If you are unsure where to look, contact your local motorcycle dealer, they should be able to tell you.
- Step 7
- After you've bought the bike, don't forget to return to the site to register your CheckABike Report Insurance. This policy will cover you for specific financial loss due to the data supplied being incorrect or incomplete. Once you have registered the insurance your CheckABike Multi will expire, and any unused checks will be lost.
You can return to the site at any time and log in using your e-mail address and password. Just click on 'View My Checks' and you will be able to see all the checks you have already, or you can click 'Check A Bike' to access further checks.
The results of the CheckABikes will appear on screen and will be stored under your login for a period of 27 months.
We'll send you regular e-mails to help you along the way, but if you need any help you can refer to our Useful Information pages, and if the answer isn't there e-mail us at checkabike@uk.experian.com.
