Here is some extra information regarding the V55 form type:

The DVLA description of the V55 form type is:

V55/1 For pre-completion by the vehicle manufacturer and import concessionaire.

V55/2 For the registration of new vehicles where form V55/1 has not been pre-completed by a manufacturer or import concessionaire - only used by independent traders who import from abroad.

V55/4 Used where V55/1 or V55/2 is not applicable, for the registration of new vehicles, e.g. personal imports, prototypes.

V55/5 For the first registration of used vehicles.
